well it wont turn over in neutral first. second what is the differance between flywheel and flexplate? should I take the timing cover off first to check out the chains and tensioners making sure they are aligned and not off track?

a flywheel is whats in a manuals and the clutch bolts to, autos have flex plates which the torque conver bolts to. the look different in most cars as well... a flywheel has the teeth on it and in most cars the torque converter will have the teeth so there is a way to tell... sounds like the torque converter is pushed into the tranny to far possibly. i would put that spacer in there for sure and then go from there. that could fix the problem in itself.
