interesting, so some of you think there is a gasket. I can't find it anywhere. Maybe talk to Ford?

The only "gasket" that there are between the trans. and the engine block is a metal shield to stop dirt and water from entering the flywheel. There is no "sealing" gasket per say because there's nothing to seal between the two. The gaskets are only on rotating parts like the rear main seal, input shaft and output shaft. The pan gasket is the only gasket that is on a transmission. I would check your torque converter and input shaft seals for leaks once you get it out of there. I'm not sure if the rear main seal on the motor is a one piece or two but I believe it's a twopiece. Either way, your not going to be able to replace the upper seal since it's held in by the crank. I wouldn't wanna drop the crank to change the upper.
Try some bars leak stopper for the tranny and maybe that will help. It will blow up the seals and lubricate them from the dirt and dryness. It's worth the $10 fix if it does work
