mach 1 grille delete kit
I tried installing my grille delete kit today. I got the radiator cover in fine. I tried putting in the grille u-shaped part but apparently the 4 holes on my saleen front bumper fascia are to small. I purchased the kit from mach1fun off of ebay and the u-shaped grille came with the 4 tube like inserts versus the 2 clip like ones i have seen on american muscle. I was wondering if anyone had a similar encounter or if anyone will know the dimensions of their holes (kind of look like squares on the american muscle video instructions)so I can properly fit my grille. Thanks.

RE: mach 1 grille delete kit
The holes should probably be about 1/4" across. I know because when I initially installed mine, I used some locking pushnuts to secure the "pegs" on the bottom of the grille applique (as Ford calls it) on the underside of the bumper cover. The inner diameter of the pushnuts were 1/4".

RE: mach 1 grille delete kit
Here are 2 pics. One pic shows the holes like squares or what not which I don't have b/c of the saleen fascia with 4 small holes. The other pic if you look closely shows the 4 pegs on the bottom of the grille cover. Do I need those "clips" or like the guy said above locking nuts or are those them? Thanks

RE: mach 1 grille delete kit
The actual Ford grille piece uses those pegs. Some aftermarket companies, like CDC and apparently American Muscle "revised" their grille applique to clip on rather than just set in the bumper.
It's quite possible that since you have a Saleen bumper, the holes on that are different from those on a stock GT bumper cover. I recall the holes in my GT being square.
And to be honest, the way Ford installs that grille applique on the Mach 1, they just attach it with the 2 plastic collared screws at the top "tabs." There's nothing that secures the bottom on. I just put the pushnuts on because I wanted the bottom secured. Tough to do since you've gotta end up bending the bumper cover upwards a bit to get access. So if you want to, you could probably just cut those pegs off and smooth out the bottom of the grille piece. There'll be a slight gap between it and the bumper cover though.
