what trannys wil interchange with 96 gt?

what trannys wil interchange with 96 gt?
i recently bought a 96 gt needs a tranny. its a t45, everyone says shift forks are known tobend or break.just wondering what year trannys will interchange and what tranny you guy suggest.

If you are wanting to mod the hell out of your car I would suggest a tko-500 or 600 or the t-56 6 speed, obviously you will need to buy some extra stuff to install them, but they are your (my) best choices.
The T-45 isn't too bad actually, I speedshift seldomly and almost at every stop sign I absolutely rape 1st, 2nd, and 3rd gear with 100K+ miles on the tranny, and have no problems with whatsoever. But I'm basically stock asides from gears, intake, and exhaust. So you need to take your plans into heart.
If you want to keep it stock or mild bolt-on mods, keep it a t-45 as it will be easier to install (maybe cost less), but if you want to go ***** to the wall with it go tko or t-56. My 2 cents, anyone can correct me if I am misleading.
