Default tires?

i am getting new rims (17x9) and i want to put 275/40R17's on the rear (nitto DRs), but what do you guys (and girls) think about fronts? should i go with stock 245/45's or go 275/40s all around? will it hurt my handling to have a different sizes? will it look stupid? any info or experience in this area will be appreciated! thanks.

Edit: oops, sorry i think i posted in the wrong section (nub)

I've got 275/40's on the rear and 245/45's on the fronts with my 17x9's. The 245's look stretched and I hate the look but I already had 2 245/45 nitto 555's on hand and didn't feel like buying more tires. I've not had any problems out of the setup yet and they've been on for around 2-3 months

The 275/40/17's will look great on the rear. I personally would not do that size on the front. I had 255's up front and thought they looked weird. I like the flush look in the front so I went with 235/45/17's up front. I think they are perfect for our SN95 stangs. Right now I have 265/40/17's on the rear so the front tires are a touch shorter.

so do you guys think i should go with 275/40's in the rear and 235/45's up front? would that look good. i dont race the car that much so im not too worried about handling but i just dont want it to look stupid and generic lol.

I had 245/40/17 that were brand new on all 4 corners with the factory 17X8's. Looked great UNTIL I put the 17X9 Cobra wheels on. They looked so gay. They were not wide enough and the whole lip of the rims stuck out past the tire. I ran out the next week and put 275/40/17's on all four corners. It looks awsome now.

Put the 245/45/R17s regulars on the Front, and the 275/40/R17 drag radials on the rear. The rears will have a nice but not overstated overhang, and the fronts will look normal.

I have 245 front and 275 rear.....and I would personally go with 275 or 245 all around....because, I can't rotate my tires or take the proper care of them so.....instead of nice tires I just put on decent cheap tires.....
