Blown Head Gasket!? Leaking oil.

that test does not work all the time because it depends where the leak is on the head, the only for sure way to tell if the head gasket is bad is to do the compression test along with a cylinder leak down test. this test will tell you the condition of each cylinder and the valves in each cylinder.

Compression test. pull the fuel p[ump fuse out, plug up a guage to a cylinder one at a time, match your results with specs. Thats the sure way to diagnose a faulty head gasket, and you can do it in 15 minutes.

YOU have to remove all spark plugs, and the cylinder pressures can not very more than 10-15 psi between cylinders, what that means is that if one hole has 180 psi, then the lowest hole cant be lower than 170 or so. Make sure you do it dry and wet.

its common for the passenger side head gasket to blow at the high pressure oil passage that lubes the camchaft journals. this will only leak oil externally. get under car and look at the head above the starter at the rear of the head if its leaking you will see it

Thanks, that was the case. The guy who I bought the car took a look at it (for the 3rd time) and without me saying anything offered to buy it back from us. Truly an amazing guy as others would have said it was sold as is. Now the hunt for a new edge GT continues
