Program a new Ford PATS Key
The OP has an '01 'stang, which requires the dealer "special" equipment--akaWorldwide Diagnostic System (WDS) or New Generation STAR tester (NGS)to program a new master key (and you must program two keys). You need two programmed keys to program a third (up to 8) using the built-in process--there is no way to tell how many keys have already been programmed, so if the "2-key" process (to add a 3rd or more) fails it may be that all 8 slots have been filled. The only way to clear the key memory is with the dealer tool or one made by Fluke (and perhaps others) that most locksmiths have--it isn't cheap, I looked into it and it's close to $10k.
