Default Cutting the cats

On my 2000 GT I want to cut the cats off will this hurt the performance or anything. I'm not worried about state inspections. Will I need to do anything else to the car.

why not buy a new x-pipe?..then you have the old one if you need it for inspections or resale..or you could just gut the convertors

Just buy an off road X or H Pipe from UPR Products or MustangTuning – you can pick one up for under two-hundy if you look hard enough.

I think I got my offroad X for like 180~, perhaps a bit less. It is defeinatly gonna sound better than just cutting them off and welding in pipes, and you will pick up more horsepower.
