mis-shift
#11
It's possible. Two people on this thread have done it and I have read other posts where its happened as well (with more disasterous results). I routinely down shift to first around 30 mph, second around 50 mph and to third around 70 mph when passing a car or playing around on a curvey road. It's far enough below redline that I can still accelerate before shifting back up. Just as a test I once down shifted to first at 45 mph (without letting out the clutch) and it went it without any trouble at all. But, I'm still running 3.27 gears. That wouldn't be possible with 4.10s.

Dude, don;t worry about it unless the car feels different afterward. I am the same way you are, I worry about stupid sh*t wayy too much. If you drive the car and it drives the same it did before, then forget it ever even happened. Transmissions are made of tough metal, not glass by the way =)
