I just dropped a new engine into my car and ever since I have done it the car doesn't drive right. It does fine under boost but driving between 1500-2500 rpm the car is jumping from really rich to really lean and it is sputtering like a misfire or something. I am thinking it would be some type of ignition issue but I just dont know... Anyone had this problem?

 

Sounds alot like a COP going bad.


P.S. Were you driving down Chapman Hwy by Kroger in So Knox yesterday? Thought I saw your car.

 

My stock 02 GT did this between 1500 and 1800 RPM for over a year. I tried a lot of different things to get around the cost of COP replacement. I finally broke down and bought the Accel 8-coil kit for it and that cured it. My car is completely stock, though.

 

mine will sputter every once in a while cruising around 50. does this mean mine are starting to go? and how much do replacements cost?
