Im wondering if its worth it to get a alum driveshaft or should I get a catted xpipe?

Alum driveshaft for the 99-04 net better response off the line because of the lower weight of the rotational mass. It will give you more RWHP than a catted Xpipe would.

disclaimer - an aluminum driveshaft will NOT increase flywheel HP or TQ. It will simply decrease the amount of drivetrain loss thus netting more RWHP and RWTQ.

I have an aluminum driveshaft, and I like it....

Try doing a search there is a HUGE thread about alum driveshafts.

i did a search and couldnt find any that really answered my question.

Im just looking to do a few bolt on mods

And this is for a 97 cobra not my 01 GT

Derf is right, but i guess it really just depends on if you prefer the different sound of the car right now with the x or not. Personally, I would rather get the car to sound how i want it before I started worrying about the driveshaft.

the aluminum one is like 11 pounds lighter

20.5 pounds with u-joints and front yoke. I don't remember how much the aluminum one weighs. I doubt its less than about 15.
