try programing the remotes. you will need both remotes when you do this becuase when you program the keyless entry iterase's all known remotes in memory. get in your car and shut the door. cycle the key from off to on about 6-8 times im not sure. , but you willknow its in program mode when the door locks cycle up and down. when it does this keep the key in the on position and press any button on the remote once. the horn should chirp if done correctly.once you have pressed a button on both the remotes. turn the key to off. and try the remotes. this should correct you problem as long as the remotes are good.

ya it wont unlock or lock, wont open the trunk, and wont do the panic thing either. i took it all spart too the contacts are all good nice and clean. i know i didnt drop it in anything so that out.
The proccess of cheapest fix first. Buy a remote off ebay (doesn't have to be a ford unit) and try reprograming it to your car. You can find dirrections on google or search here. If that doesn't work then your module has gremlins. I'd take it out, and get a good alarm. I have the Viper 5900.

Like I said before the PATS system and the Alarm/keyless entry are two seperate systems and do not have anything to do with each other.

When you reprogram the remote thats all your reprograming; it has nothing to do with the key. I did fail to mention....like someone stated already, (i'm a failure) you could try reprograming your own remote before buying a new one. Google the reprogram sequence and give it a shot. That is, of course if your remote does not work at all. If it works, even a little or sometimes then it's not going to help reprograming cause it's just broke.
