battery light flashing when in high rpms
hey guys i drove my car today and noticed that when i was climbing in the rpms (even slowly) my battery light was slightly flashing. When i got up to like 4-5k it was on and when the rpms dropped it went back off. When i got home i popped the hood and noticed that the serpentine belt is just slightly loose. So i was wondering if the belt was slipping and the alternator wasn't putting out what it should or something. I didn't really feel a power loss but then again this is the second time i've driven the car since i've been back so i'm still getting used to it. Let me know what you guys think. Thanks

RE: battery light flashing when in high rpms
if the belt was loose its likely that its not spinning the alternator at higher rpms. but if it was doing this i would imagine that the belt would squeel or make some kind of noise. if your not hearing any noise i would say your alternator may be crapping out.

yea i don't really hear any belt squeeks or noises but there were a couple slight wear marks on the belt. However, if i can remember right those were on there for a long time. Well i'll see how much the alternator would run me. Thanks

The voltage regulator in the alternator is shot, if it was the brushes, it would only work the faster therotor was turned. Unfortunately i don't think you can rebuild these alternators anymore.
