How many bolts are there on a 2004 mustang gt manual transmission? 3 or 5?

My Haynes manual shows 3 bolts on the left side and 2 bolts on the right but with everything removed out of the car I still cannot slide the !@#! transmission back so now i'm wondering if there are 2 top bolts that the Haynes manual is not telling me about?

I have a T45, but I think it's the same anyways. There are two bolts at the top you may have to use a long extention and a swivel to get to.

Once it is ready to come out though, it may take a little coaxing. I kept getting hung up on the pilot bearing.

there are 7 bolts all together 3 on the right 2 on the left and two on the very top. you need atleast 1/2inch drive about 3 foot extention with a 13mm wobblie on it and an impact gun to get those two top bolts to break loose. if you follow the o2 wire up to the top you will feel them.

Don't know if you did this or not but you also need to remove the starter before it will come out, good luck.

Well technically there are 9 bolts (2 small ones at the bottom that attach the block plate to the tranny. To get the top boltsout easy just lean the tailshaft down.

Well I dropped the rear tranny down and still could not get a good enough angle at the top 2 bolts. I used two extensions a wobbly and u-joint socket. No deal!

They say every man has his limits and last night I met mine however today I may take one more stab at it. I'm thinking about going at them from the top of my motor. If it's too much of a pita I think i'll just pay someone to do it. I was quoted $300 about 6 months ago. I should have jumped on it then.
