You've got (a) an intermittent contact wire in the harness between the body and the door, or (b) the connection to the motor is loose and opening the door is forcing to to make contact. Unfortunately based upon my experience with older cars I think (a) is more likely. This happens often with automotive wires, in bundles subjected extended flexing. The insulationhardens with age and cracks, the cracked insulation causes a stress point and the copper wire also "cracks" from work hardening.Take off the door panel as suggested above, and if the connector is seated properly then you'll need to cut open the harness between the body and the door and look for a spot on one of the wires that looks cracked. There will often also be a trace of carbon build-up, caused by arcing of the broken conductor. Look at the areas that flex most first.

There is an adjustment at the bottom of the track that might work. It can adjusted so when the window is being raised, it won't have so much pressure against the seals. It helped on mine.
