I have N20, which is faster than both [8D]

Seriously, one of my best friends has an 01 GT with a V1 Vortech that's been on there for 70k miles. Belt changes is all he has to do to it.

And Blackhawk, just to back up my claims, just look at the 03-04 cobra's compared to the GT's.

(MSN.AUTOS.)

GT 23-25 MPG highway
Cobra 24 MPG highway

That's a 370rwhp S/C car getting the same mileage as a 230rwhp N/A car with the same displacement.

P.S. The city mileage is the exact same at 17mpg.

twin screw: more money, more fun on the street

centri: more top end hp, easier to stay out of boost

to me, i think you really can't go wrong either way. I went the centri intercooled way because of money. I am extremely impressed with the results and would go the same route again if i had to.

hp takes forever to get their damn turbos. do not reccomend. i have their kit and its been over 4 months. they said they sent it and they sent the damn intercooler and couplers and said everything else will ship in a couple weeks. but they said that about every thing else. i was gonna try and get the damn thing running before i go to school but im at school now and it will be awhile till my car ever see's a road again.

Just depends on what you want to do with the car. Fun street car, I'd go with a twin screw. Why? Instant boost

For the track, I'd go with a procharger. I like that it comes with the 3core intercooler, and they can make great power.

And most of all, it's personal preference.

Has anyone had experience with the twin turbo kit for the 99-04 gts from hp performance? they claim the the system is capable of 850 hp on a built motor and that on a stock one they send em out the door at 450-470hp at the WHEELS! isnt that a bit high for STOCK components guys? Any words of wisdom from the boost gods?
420-440rwhp is the norm with a stock block, but its all in how good your tune will be. Get it dead on an u can drive around for years on the stock block, but if its off, your time will be short lived. If I were gonna do it, Id invest in forged internals 1st, 2ndly Id get a whipple or KB for that instant boost, but thats me.

It's very important (to me) to have a dyno tune. Canned tunes can keep you alive, but a good custom dyno tune will be extra HP, and your car will make it longer than with a canned tune.

All this talkk about tuning,..makes me want to learn more about how it all works. I had my last vehicle tuned proffessionally by a reputable company in south carolina. Due solely to the tune causing detonation my motor blew. I had an eaton blower from a manufacturer's kit and everything was on for less than a year and i had nothing but problems the whole way. i actually had three different shops tune the vehicle over the course of a year. None could seem to get it right. All were recommended by someone who had a great experience with them. So, this is why i think anything anyone says about "this tuner did this, or this tuner is awesome" is hard to believe that they can do it again. I actually swore i'd never go boosted again, but here i am,, back in the game looking at FI. its a disease i swear it!
