Gas Mileage

RE: Gas Mileage
in my 97 GT I average only about 15-18 mpg with highway and city driving. I can't believe that some of you guys are getting in the 20's with your cars. Before I bought my Mustang, I had an Integra GSR 1.8L and only averaged 22-23 mpg!

i think last time i checked i was at 24mpg and that was a both city and highway driving

I have a 2003 GT vert auto and typically drive like a little old lady, most of the time [8D]
The worst I ever got was around 19mpg right after I installed my new catback system
Once I got used to the sound, my mileage actually improved by about 1 to 2 mpg.
Just as a comparison, my Mustang gets better mileage than my 2000 Dodge Caravan
which hovers around 20mpg no matter what kind of driving.

RE: Gas Mileage
ive actually heard that the 2v gt's get better mpg than the v6's idk about that rumor but i do kno that my modded stang gets better mpg than my stock 2v tbird. if i baby the throttle it takes about a business week to go thru a 1/4 of a tank in my stang just commuting back and forth from work wich is exactly a 15 min drive there and 15 min back. so 30 min worth of driving 5 days a week on a 1/4. equates to what 10 hours of driving per tank? which there isa 15.4 gallon tank so that equates to 1.54gl/hr city driving. (ide rather equate gl/hr because its a more usable real world number, time is money)

RE: Gas Mileage
ok just for kicks, ill calculate my mpg. everyday school day i have to drive 54-55 miles round trip. 27-ish there and back. i can do it on just a hair under a 1/4 of a tank to an exact 1/4 depending on traffic, which is usually horrible. so lets say 55mi per 1/4 equates to 220miles per tank dvided by 15.4 gallons equals 14.28 mpg. on a bad day i might add. straight highway driving with no stop and go at a steady 65-70mph ide see around 18 mpg. how do u guys even get above 20 i dont know. maybe npi gets worse mpg than pi. idk but we'll find out once im done w/ my swap. i hope pi does yield better mpg cuz im going to 93 octane.
