shifting frustration
WellI have 2004 gt with some slight mods gears, tuner, and cai. but now i'm having problems with third gear. no matter how I drive easy or hard third is getting harder and harder to get in. sometimesI realy have to force it in. All other gears are great what is causing third to be a b****. the clutch is fine. And would the short throw shifter from triax fix this problem.

RE: shifting frustration
A short throw shifter. any one of them, willexaggerate the amount of force neededunless there's something wrong with the existing shifter. Shorter throw = increased effort, that's basic mechanical principles of leverage at work.If you have not changed the tranny fluid then you should do so, also...There's a TSB (TSB 04-15-6) that describes a fix for shifting problems with 2001-2003 T3650 transmissions that may be applicable to your '04 as well. The "fix" is replacement of the synchro rings, however another element of this TSB is that the transmission be refilled with only 3.0 L (3.2 qts) of fluid rather than the original spec of 3.7 L (3.9 qts). The lesser quantity of fluid reduces the tendency for the shift rods and detents to "hydrolock" while in motion. You do not mention and grinding, so changing the tranny juice and only using 3.0 L to refill may fix you up.
