Default 96 GT project

I just bought a 96 Mustang GT 4.6l 5sp, 2V with 69,000 miles. The intake, exhaust, and heads are not installed. I was planning on putting it back together stock over the next week. I have a few questions about the engine. Whatare the first couple of things I should replace before driving the car? Are there any things I should keep checking? Is there anything else I should know about? (I'm used to 5.0s)

If I were you I try looking for some used PI parts and do a PI swap while everything is already off the car. There are tons of write up's on what you will need. Otherwise I don't really think you need to replace anything else. What are your plans for the car?

If i was you i would get the pi heads and intake since you already have everything off. It will be worth it.

I have the power improved intake, but the heads are stock along with the cams. Some forums say that the oil pump gear is bad in these cars, is that true?

I do have the power improved intake, but the heads are stock along with the cams. I plan on using it as a daily driver and drag racing every once in a while. The only problem is I am a little short on cash right now and I really want to get the car on the road asap, but I also do not want to be dissapointed in the power the car makes. Does anybody know of some cheap upgrades that would help out thesmall 215 hp?
