96 GT project
I just bought a 96 Mustang GT 4.6l 5sp, 2V with 69,000 miles. The intake, exhaust, and heads are not installed. I was planning on putting it back together stock over the next week. I have a few questions about the engine. Whatare the first couple of things I should replace before driving the car? Are there any things I should keep checking? Is there anything else I should know about? (I'm used to 5.0s)

RE: 96 GT project
If I were you I try looking for some used PI parts and do a PI swap while everything is already off the car. There are tons of write up's on what you will need. Otherwise I don't really think you need to replace anything else. What are your plans for the car?

+1 go with the PI Intake Manifold and PI Heads.......this would be a great start specially since it doesnt currently have those parts. You will be very happy...there are alot of write ups on the process check them out and you will learn!
