Default Rear Bumper Removal

Ok I've searched and can't find any instructions on how to remove the rear bumper cover on a 99 GT. I have a dent in the left corner of my bumper that's driving me nuts and i need to pop it out. i know the paint will chip but thats ok.

So could someone please tell me how the bumper cover comes off, and what i will need to do to re install it?

Thanks,
Chuck

I took my front bumper cover off a few days ago and realize the rear will be different. However, it shouldn't be a problem. It's probably got a bunch of the plastic nails and those screws in their own plastic housing holding it on. I would buy new ones because they can get messed up from removal.

If its like a 96, there are 2 philips screws near the rear tires and some of those plastic nails things on the bottom(like vanquish said they will probably get damaged) thenyou have to take the lining out of the truck then there are 2 bolts on left and right and like 4 or 5 down the middle and it pulls off. Its not hard at all, I did mine by myself.

Yup, that is it. I've done it twice.

They might or they might sell something close enough to make work. If you use an interior trim removal tool and do it on a hot day, you might be able to get them out without damaging them too much. I broke oneand never replaced it It doesn't effect much and the bumper doesn't hang at all because of it.

I know Auto Zone does. Just take a sample of the ones you need to replace with you. They are marked"For FORD VEHICLES", although some of the ones that you use for your hood liner can be the large "universal" ones, just for information.
