Clutch squeak... stops when i apply slight pressure to clutch.
Its a squeaking sound (squeak squeak squeak squeak rapidly) that happens when the car is in neutral and my foot is completely off the clutch... it stops when i apply pressure to the clutch. Not sure why it started doing this but i have been launching hard etc lately. Anyone know what the problem could be or if its easy to fix?

Is there any free play in the pedal? There should be 1-1/4" to 1-1/2" free play (push on it with your hand until you feel the resistance of the clutch spring). If there is little to no freeplay the throwout bearing will make very light and intermittent contact with theclutch spring's fingers, this will often make thenoise you describe. It is unlikely that the ToB is badif it quiets down when you apply light pressure to the pedal.

Mine does the same thing, like a chirp chirp, until I lightly press the pedal. I was told if I replaced my clutch cable it would stop the issue.
Does this cause any damage being like this, I havent gotten around to replacing the cable.

A bound up cable could do this, howver you should be able to feel that in the clutch action (kind of a dragging/sluggish feeling). If the clutch control system (pedal, quadrant, firewall bushing, cable/sheath)do not feel bound up then check the free play as I prevously described. If there is little to none than adjsu the cable 'til there is 1-1/4" to 1-1/2" freeplay. It's not likely to cause any real damage, however the noise is the result of similar metals (the ToB face and the clutch spring are both alloy steel) making sliding contact under load. In the overall scheme of things this is bad...

I'm not any smarter than anyone else, I've just been bangin my head into these things longer than many of you. I got my 1st "real" motorised thing (a 165 cc Ducati with coincidentally a bad TOB) when I was 13 in 1960 (I had had a 3-1/2 HP go-kart since I was 6 or 7).

it stopped doing it after a 18 mile drive in stop and go traffic and sitting for a bit... not sure why but im happy about that.
there is about 1-1.5 inch of free play before it starts to engauge
