Default Fitment issue?

Anyone know why the 2003 cobra front bumper wont go with the 2 1/2 cowl hood?

I've seen pictures of it done and it looks nice, put them on my car today and the bumper wont fit with the hood?

It's the 2 1/2 from hofibertrends.

I have this hood with this front bumper...

and I installed both, went to go close the hood and the two pegs that come from the bumper where the pony sits inbetween are too high for the hood to close...

I'm pretty sure you have to modify the two "pillars" that go up. I think you have to push them back some how, someone else will chime in with this combo and help you out some more. Or you could do a google search, there are plenty of threads with this problem, it doesnt have anything to do with the hood, it a GT thing.

How did you like your hood? Good quality? Recommend it?

could you possibly dig up a couple of threads for me? The search function doesn't work for me for some weird reason.

Ok, your gonna need to push those pillars back about a 1/4 of an inch and then it should shut.

If I push the pillars forward, toward the engine, the hood sits...

I dont know man, I remember now that some people had to cut them. You can google your problem and there are multiple mustang forums that have problems with this, or you can change the title of your thread to "03 Cobra bumper fitment issue" and there are bound to be some people jump on this thread by tomorrow.

I have a cobra bumper with factory hood.. What i had to do was twist the rubber stoppers down to get hood to close. Only problem is the hood rubs the pillars of bumper and takes paint off.. not noticable with hood closed. but still a problem.
