Default Two problems at once....UPDATE!!!

Hey guys im really aggravated right now because after i was done changing my intake manifold gasket and spark plugs my car wont run right and i got a coolant leak. Here is the thing, i had coolant on my plugs so it was running like crap, so i decided to replace the gasket and while at it replace all the plugs.

Problems

1. My intake manifold is the new style w/alum crossover and i bought it off ebay new but it hadbuilt in o-ring style gasket on it and now i bought ford gaskets and they didn't quite match up with the built in ones (i wanted to use both) so i just used the ford ones.

2. I was told to gap the plugs at .032 for F/I application but the car just totally idles like crap and then dies. Did i not gap them right?

Anyway i spent quite a few hours messing with this thing and i'm just about ready to give up. Thanks for any help

Actually I tought the same thing at first. NA are 52/54. He has a SC like me, .35 is really suppose to be the gap. Try regapping them to .35. Your intake manifold shouldn't make a difference, it's just the upgrade everyone got in the recall. ANother question is did you go to a colder plug ,I assume you did seeing you have a sc. NGK make a good plug(TR-6).

yeag i thought that 0.035 was the right gap but i guess i wasnt going to argue with the guy at the time, but ill try to regap them to 0.035. As far as the manifold im aware that a lot of people do it but my question was which gasket am i supposed to use if yje one it came with went bad? Looks like the only other way is to just use RTV or buy a new manifold with built in gaskets....

Sounds like you have a vacuum leak to me.

So you used both gaskets?
