Great! I just ordered March pulleys from MustangTuning – so your saying this was a bad move?
I wouldn't say it's a bad move, it's still a GREAT mod, but I can tell you from experience, I drove without a dampner for a day and now have it installed again, but the difference was NIGHT and DAY.

Piggyback style pulleys ALSO restrict you from using a Steeda Timing Adjuster. There is NO room to mount it. Not to mention, the whole setup looks pretty stupid. When I explained to my mechanic it was a piggyback setup and that's how it worked, he couldn't believe it and said what a waste!!

I could be wrong and every UDP application for our 4.6's are piggy back, I've read installation instructions for Steeda's and they mentioned NOTHING about bolting the stock dampner to their UD crank pulley. So I'm assuming they are one of the few non-piggyback UDP's, hence why they are $200 compared to March's $130.
Well, maybe I'll see about trading them for Steeda's and paying the difference (w/ MustangTuning). I knew I should have forked over the extra loot for the Steeda's in the first place! [:@]

Thanks, Dan....

I was looking at getting some pulleys. I was looking at getting the cheaper ones but now im not sure. Can you explain the difference to me. I don't really understand the difference. Can you notice a big difference in the performacne between the two.

Where'd you get em from? I have no idea if the pulley's that I ordered on Mustang Tuning (that are en route now) are piggybacks or not. [sm=headbang.gif]

Hey Dan,
It might not be a bad idea to make this thread a post-it. Good info for peeps in the market for pulleys.

NANAKI got a vortech???? WTF! Where was I when this happened? I hate you now.... And just for the record, if you order the steeda timing adjuster of of the steeda site, i believe it mentions on there that it is not compatible with "piggyback" style pulleys. It recommends matching the steeda pulleys with the steeda timing adjuster (of course they recommend their own parts). Thats why I bought mine together (same time). NANAKI, when you getting that blower installed??? Better show lots of pics and what-not! Good luck man.

I dont believe there is a difference in the amount of hp that the different types of pulleys produce, i think the only downside is you cant use the timing adjuster with the piggy back pulleys.
