Default 4th ver 5th Gen Stangs?

What are the advantages/disavantages of the 1996-2004 Mustangs compared to 2005 and up?

I was leaning toward a 2002 to 2004 GT, now torn between them and the newer models.

Thanks

None.. the 05+ mustangs kill the 2v in every way except weight.. but it makes it up in power and tuning capability

I've been thinking about this for a long time. I bought my first car about 2 months ago, an 04 GT. Took me like 5 months to find, as it was supprisingly a very hard car to aquire. I wanted an 04 black/black premium leather GT with a 5spd and low miles. One owner prefered. I like the new retro-style look and many times I have thought about just getting an 05+ as it would have been easier. I never thought that I would eventially find my car but I did and I'm glad I picked the 04 over the newer style.

I love both but as my first car to own, I like how the new edges have a more sleek, aerodynamic body style.

'05 and up is faster stock, but I don't like the whole retro '60's style that goes with it.I mean, if your gonna go retro, why make it look like a '68.Why not a '69 or'70?

Or for that matter why bother with the whole retrothing to begin with. I think theretro look is played out. I don't like the new Challenger or Camaro. I just don't underdstand this whole '60s fetish.Buy a '79-'04 and use the money you save to mod it.

I love how everybody I pull up to that has a newer body style looks down on my car just because it's newer. Honestly I do everything I can to meet side by side to a newer stang, just so I can smoke them when the light turns green. And that's easy to do seeing how 75% of them are v6's!

The most modded 05+ gt I raced had 4.30 gears, CAI, tune full exhaust and some suspension. I broke his heart at the track
