Default so there i was.

So there i was driving away from the doctors office (in the pouring rain) when all of a sudden my battery light came on. i then noticed while trying to make a turn that my power steering was out. the brakes were gone as well (still worked but not like they should ofcourse) i found a parking lot to park in to check things out.
The belt had jumped off the car. its still one piece. i didnt notice any frayed sides or anything like that. i had no tools so putting it back on was out. i had to have it towed to my mechanic so they can deal with it in the morning.

Why would it jump ship like that? is this a common thing with supercharged mustangs?
Also, the belt says Vortech on it, yet my SC is a paxton. does Vortech supply other companies with the belts needed or did the previous owner use the wrong one?

let me know your thoughts. ill be drinking a beer in the meantime. lol

the tensioner may be going bad or the belt you have on there is too big. I would call paxton and ask them what size belt is needed and see if the belt you have is the correct size.
