all man i spelled nitrous wrong.i guess that was a WASTE time huh sxynerd.sry im not an english major I BUILD RACING ENGINES FOR A LIVING.oxford your correct on #2 thats why you run a bigger combustion chamber to unshroud the valves for better flow it builds more compression than a small chamber even on a n/a set up.jwarnick i think is the only one of you that really knows what hes talking about. a 4v is alot better choice to build big power with but its more fun to go out and WASTEa 2v with amail orders/c (that anyone could put on)with a n/a 2v.we could write a book on this but the fact is if you dont think these #s are real you dont know what you are really doing.

It's just a guess but I'll bet if you post your numbers, someone might be more likely to believe your story. Until you do, everyone is going to call B.S. about your numbers and you building racing engines for a living. Just a thought.

ya thats true i wish i could but ill have to see if i can get the print out it was over the winter so it might take a while.by the way this is my bosses car not mine i just helped build it.but really all you have to do is look at jwarnicks #s 871hp at the wheels these guys are trying to say you cant make over 400hp n/a that would mean that he made 346hp in boost thats if it was a full 125 shot.just because thats what pill he used doesnt mean that you really get 125 they always have a difference in them.and all this is to the wheels, im talking about on an engine dyno not a chassis dyno and depending on what type of dyno he used there is a 15-20hp differecne on the two different styles of chassis dynos so his #s could actually be low by 15 or 20 hp.by the way jwarnick none of this isa hit towards you just trying to tell these kids they dont know as much as they think they do.

Sorry to interrupt the argument, but why wouldn't you get a stroker kit if you're getting forged internals?

Since the stock internals are only good to about 450hp, if you want to make more you'll need to buy forged stuff. If you're getting forged stuff, then why not stroke it out to 5.0 or something? It didn't seem to be that much more expensive when I looked.

So what's the downside of stroking an engine that may or may not be able to utilize the extra power?

You start to sacrifice strength. The ratio of your rod length to stroke decreases, which means you're putting much more lateral stress on the block. All other things being equal, any length you add to the stroke you must compensate for by decreasing the rod length or else the piston will stick out the top of the block - it's just basic algebra. I'm not an expert in this by any means, but I know some people have gotten around that by utilizing pistons that have the wrist pin located higher up to be able to keep the same rod length. Even then, you're still decreasing the ratio. At least that's how some of the guys in Ronnie Crawford's shop explained it to me many years ago.

PLEASE, just go away. You are just making yourself sound more and more ignorant. Believe me, I am doing you a favor by asking you to refrain from posting your "claims" or "expertise".

more than likely a 125 shot would net far more than 125 horses on a supercharged application just from the natural cooling effect on the intake charge of the nitrous alone. unplug your keyboard and walk away.
