To test a coil pack you need a multimeter you test resistance in the coil by taking the boot off the pack easy if you have the expensive tool. No code is strange for a misfire it should immediately set a memory code

Ah ok well only reason I was asking is autos you can brake and apply the throttle at the same time putting the car under a heavy load and you will be able to feel a real bad sputter if you have a miss. And it will immediately trip a code. Sorry i got nothing

 

yea like i said it flashed the service engine soon for about 30 seconds then went off but did not store a code which does not help me and this was the day after the engine was washed.

 

And its still sputtering now?

get it to a good shop scanner (not auto zone) and get them to do a diagnostic and it may be smaller than you think. i just had a similar problem to where my car was skipping and i had people saying my coils were bad, cracked intake or vacuum leak for the hissing noise and loss of power but come to find out after my diagnostic the only thing was not having cats and they guy checked cylinder by cylinder and it was just three plugs making my car run shatty so spend the 70 itll do you wonders just my .02
