Engine stutter please help!!!!
i just recently had my car cleaned by a friend and he washed my engine which i did not want him to do. well when under load from 2000rpm up i get some stuttering in all gears. i took all my coil packs out and air hosed them, all connectors under my hood but still stuttering. earlier in the week when driving i had my service engine soon light blink for about 30 seconds or so then went off!! please let me know what to do next.
typically when the SES light blinks it means you have a miss fire.....check to make sure none of the spark plug wires are laying on your exhaust or damaged in any way. check to see if maybe water possibly got in the sparkplug boot? if noting id try to test the coil packs themselves....one might be shorted out....
i made that mistake 2 days after i bought my car. i was staying away from any eletrical connections just trying to clean around the engine and my wife yelled someting at me and i turned and well i turned the water hose on the intake frying 2 coil packs. i took it back to the ford dealer and made a stink about just buying 2 cars from them and they replaced 2 coil packs and plugs for free and saved me a couple hunderd bucks!!! it cost them almost 300.00 in factory parts to fix my fu*k up!!!! but lesson learned now i use a dampend cloth to clean anything under the hood.
I've had the same trouble with mine. I too took off all the cop's cleaned them with wd40, disconnected all the wire harnesses and gooped them up with electrical grease, even my mil eliminators, cleaned my maf meter with starting fluid and it still sputters for like a day or two then goes away.
