Well I am thinking about upgrading to another car, I currently have a 00gt with 56,xxx miles and have been wanting more power. Which would I probably be the most happy with as far as bang for the buck, and resell value i suppose.

2003 Mach 1

I could save some money by getting the cobra, allowing to spend some to go a little faster . Thanks for any opinions guys.

Edit: I have decided to look just between these two.

 

out of those, I would go with the 01 cobra or 03 mach depending on the cars themselves. I would still stay away from the salvaged termi.

It kinda depends on what you're looking for. Obviously the Cobra has IRS while the Mach has a SA. Otherwise for all practical purposes it's more of a cosmetic decision.

What are your goals?

I know the Machs are limited to about the same 400 hp pinicle before the motor starts needing support.

Are the cobras the same, or do they have better blocks with more potential?

Obviously the solid rear is going to be more forgiving if you like drag racing, but if you're just looking for ever day power that you can use on the street, the Cobra should hold up quite well, if not be more fun with the irs whenever you decide to carve some corners.

any idea what you'd be asking for your '00? 56K is pretty tempting..

 

I compared it to othermustangs of its year and mileageon the internet and $11.5-12k seems fair because of the cars condition. If anyone is interested in it or wants to make an offer let me know! thanks for the thoughts guys, and btw I am into drag racing but its a once a month deal. Does one respond better to mods or are they essentially equal motors?

 

They are almost the same motor so mods will net you the same gain. The Mach 1 has a broader torque curve. It uses, I think, the navigator intake cam.
