Hi guys and first of i am new to the forum and looks preety good

well ive been wanting a mustang for some time so an offer poped up a 2001 mustang gt for 4500 well everything on the car works except the top i know its because of the hand brake when i pull the hand brake up it works and everything except for it wont come up on the dash that i pulled it so the hand brake does work but it wont come up on the dash and the light on the dash has to be on in order for the top to go down any help would be apreciated

Any soda ever get spilled in the area? (You probobly don't know the answear to that)

My first guess would be a bad switch somewhere in the area of the handbreak. Maybee all sticky and stuck.

Otherwise, check out all your fuses, and also make sure the break light turns on when you first start the car to begin with (maybe the bulb is out)

How does the top look in general? Anything out of place or mishifted? Any signs that they might have replaced it?

The top is good the light turns on when the car starts i think its what you said about a switch where is the switch exacltly located at

its located on the handbrake itself. Your going to have to remove the center console to get to it.

is that gonna be hard to do or should i just take it to a shop
