not really when the a/c is off the clutch is disengaged rendering the compressor as an idler pulley, and when the a/c is on it will kick off under wide open throttle situations.

It would make the car lighter without the heavy compressor,lines and condensor.

the more weight off the front end the better on a drag race application as it increase weight transfer to the rear, not like i am doing much good with the piping, intercooler, turbo, etc. but im pretty sure the power will balance it out
