Default should I get gears?

Hi All, I have a 2003 GT automatic, and am pondering my next purchase. Mods so far include: SLP X-pipe, SLP Loudmouth Catback, MAC straight Shot Intake, plus some other minor mods.

So, it looks like the next thing I need is Gears.... right?

What gears are stock in my GT? What should I get (3.73, 3.90, etc), what brand?

As far as installation, what/where? I had a guy quote me $450 which seems awefully high. Thanks for the advice.

Stock is 3.27, get Ford Racing (FRPP) 4.10s unless you plan on a supercharger, installation for $450 is about right if the shop is also supplying all the parts (ring/pinion and installation kit). Good choice on exhaust by the way!

yes, I love my exhaust. Thanks you on the compliment.

No, that $450 was without the parts.

Too much, should be around $200 for the installation.

with the auto you want to get 3.73s, 4.10 are better for the 5 speeds because they have the extra gear.

You couldn't be more wrong, you want at least 4.10s with the auto because you don't have to shift. People tend to shy away from 4.10s with 5-spds because of the constant shifting.
