Changing my tranny oil

Tremec's repair manual for the 3650 shows this as the recommended lubricant.
I believe that the statement "additives and friction modifiers are not recommended..." was misinterpreted someplace along the line as referring to synthetic fluid. Probably because most synthetic gear oils have "additives and friction modifiers"--thing is, our transmissions use ATF, not gear oil (no offense to Strider's father).
I have also never seen any Tremec direct quote or literature banning the use of synthetic fluid. The oft repeated and non-sourced statement attributed to them on Wikipaedia is as close as I've seen--and it is fully disqualified by the repair manual.
Ford TSB 04-15-6 states that the revised fill capacity is 3.0 L (3.17 qts). The lesser amount of fluid reduces hydro-locking of the shift rods and detents at high input (engine rpm) speeds.
