you dont need a welder..some kind of power saw will do...

can't he just unbolt it, and get it over the axle with no problem? I didn't run into this problem as the exhaust goes under the axle in my car.

on my 02 gt the stock exhaust went over the axle...has to be cut in order to get it off..i dont know if its different for a 2000

Eh, Torrington's too far. I live near Branford, in New Haven county. Torrington's over an hour drive from here.

lol wtf? proactive??? i have been a part lazy too, i was going to change my fuel filter but, it was a no go. cheapo floor jack FTL.
