Default Doesn't fire in first to turns

I recently had the intake manifold replaced, and the guy at the shop, fixed the manifold, then told me the fuel injectors were failing on one side of the block, the passenger side injectors all failed, but the driver side injectors continued to work properly. Bought 4 new ones, and 4 spark plugs (XP 103), and now it takes 4-5 cranks before engine fires. My questions is did i get hosed on the injectors?, he said it's just one of those weird things that happens when there old and taken out of the original position. Plus now the engine doesn't fire right also I looked up the XP103's and the website said that they dont even fit the 2000 Mustang GT. Please give me some in-site.

What needs to happen for the the ignition to fire correctly?

The XP-103 is a colder version of the X-104, which is the "normal" heat range for the 4.6L 2V. They have the same physical size so it will "fit" but its one heat range cooler. Pull them out and see what they look like, if they have obviously benn running cold then you need to get a hotter plug.

However, I would also suggest tossing them out anyway and getting some plain old single platinum plugs. The thin-wire iridium plugs seems to work fine in high-revving multi-valve engines, but I wouldn't run them in a 2V V8.

Don`t forget to use a torque wrench set at 11-13ft lbs on the plug install, or you`ll be setting yourself up for a nasty (read- expensive) surprise.

I could also make an argument that turning over 2 or 3 turns before firing is good-it gives the oil pump a chance to get things moving before the big bang...

When you say it takes 4-5 cranks do you mean you try starting it and crank it over for about 5 senconds and it doesn't start so you try again another 4 time till it starts?

Cranking is typically 200 to 250 rpm--5 seconds would be 18 to 20 revolutions--it should start by then or something is wrong...
