Default Fuel Problems with BAP

so i just put a new svt focus pump in my gt and installed a 20amp BAP.

i have 2 questions here. when it idles the fuel pressure is at 20psi is that ok?

and when i roll into the trottle it will jump up to about 40psi but if i punch it, it will dip to about 15ish and then jump to 45 and fall to 40ish. im wondering if i have something else messing up and i want to see if i can find it before i get it tuned. and i have a fuel rail pressure sensor that isnt even a year old so i dont think its that.

any ideas or is this just normal?

That is not good at all. At idle with vacuum your gauge should be reading 29psi and 43psi when on the throttle. It should never dip to 15. Thats a good way to blow the engine. Check and make sure the gauge is working right by dataloging the fuel pressure. Have you upgraded your wires out back yet?

well the only time it drops is at a low rpm if i just tap into it fast it will drop really quick and then jump up but still only stays around 40 and will drop to about 38 but that is with the BAP at 0 cause i cant turn it up till i get it tuned this coming up friday so i guess my tuner will datalog it and make sure everything is ok. i hope i dont have to do anything cause im tired of messing with my fuel setup

the other think i have the autometer fuel pressure gauge and since it wont bolt right up to the fuel rail i had to put an elbow adapter on there... would that mess with the reading of the gauge cause i have been thinking about just buying some fuel rails that it could fit in or get a fuel pressure regulator

Yes that elbow will mess with the reading. I have the adapter that goes in between the fuel rail and the FPS that I have my gauge hooked to. I will be selling it at the end of the month if your interested or you can buy it for like $40 new.

I'm near nashville

A few things,

#1 where is the bap installed, before or after the FPDM
#2 Wire it on full all the time, forget the ****
#3 The Focus wants to draw to much amprage for the 20amp bap you need to get the 40amp.

a 90 degree elbow is not causing your problems.

i have the BAP wired into where the wires leave the fuel cut of switch and i have the fused end going to the cut off and the non fused end going to the wire harness and then i grounded it to the same spot the FPDM is grounded and i have the boost switch wires twisted together so its running all the time. so should i mount it somewhere else cause that the only place i found directions... plus this BAP and an SVT focus pump was on a mach 1 that was making 525 so it should sent enough power to the pump to push my 420 ish hp but i dunno

even today i would get on a lil and it would jump to 40 and fall to 30 but that was with the BAP turned to 0 but with my old pump it did the same towards the end of its life so im wondering if its something in the system itself??

well i plugged a manual fuel pressure gauge to my fuel rail and at idle i was seeing 32-33psi so its my gauge that has gone bad on me.... so thanks to all that helped me out and ill hope to be able to return the favor one day.
