Yes I actually did! Yesterday.

I talked to patriot and they said that they could/would send replacement valve guide seals but wouldn't cover labor. Which is ok.

I actually took the car to the shop they got me my shortblock an he is going to pull the heads and replace the valve guide seals, guides (with bronze). And he is cutting me a good deal on the work. I know I could do a lot of the work myself, but I just don't have the time no the patience now.

Well it looks like you fell into the 1% failure of patriot heads. That sucks. Don't waste your money on lottery tickets.

yepp!, I am amazingly lucky with car parts!

- Blew up GT engine (40k on the clock)
- Busted Axle bearings(knew that was coming)
- My panhard bar has fallen off twice while driving
- My torque arm broke in half! while shifting in to 4th of all things? (welded alot of reinforcements, wont happen again)
- Brake caliper Exploded
- Now fell into the less than 1% failure for Patriot heads!

As a bonus!
- Blew up my V6's rear end! Shredded 3 teeth off of the ring gear.

All of this within two years.

Anyways because that I am scared to death about F/I.

Amazingly lucky and that sounds expensive. But it is an expensive habit.

Fox lake will be your best bet. Boldly makes the statement that their heads will outflow the competition. Do your research if you must, but i firmly believe that you would be satisfied if you went that rout.

I'm a firm believer in buy what you can afford to build once not twice. Even if you spend more money the first time it's still less money than building it twice.

Since I'm not trying to make silly power numbers I'm either starting with Patriots that will be check by my speed shop or I'll just have the shop do a port with bigger valves. Either way is going to be about the same $$

You will be pushing it with heads and cams on a stock shortblock.
