I agree making you own IMRC deletes out of the stock IMRC plates is easy as pie.
Absolutely, the tune will be fine. The fuel maps and timing are so generic from the factory that he'll even pass California emissions. He wont get the best fuel delivery at WOT in order to make great hp numbers but still more than a tuned 2v.

He needs to use the stock injectors until he can get a tune and he can adjust them if he likes.

Do you have a link to a car that passed CA emissions with a cobra motor and GT tune?

No, I did all the research when I was looking into the swap and moving back home. The OBD2 scanner doesn't read IIRc and the RPM are under 3k so you never hit the fuel map. When he finnaly does get it tuned he needs a stock tune in order to pass emissions, but he can have a chip as long as the smog station can't see that its connected. An example is, I had my tuner reflash the ECU and give me a flip tune with one possition being OFF so the Scanner only reads the ECU.

You know what I mean, so why be a smart guy. Just explain it better than me.

I would if I even knew what you were attempting to post...

BTW, I'm not being a smart-a$$ but would rather see informative and good tech, rather than the ignorant BS posted by people that don't understand somethng.

For instance, I posted a graph attempting to strike up a good conversation on engine design but instead have posters chime in with a BS post to increase their post count.

Great tech, let's keep it coming!

Wait what?

Tripping the MIL is not the only reason you will fail the emissions test in CA.

there are so many thing about a 96-98 cobra engine tune that differ from a GT it would not run well with the GT tune. Even the injector timing differ dermaticlay at low RPM and low load.

I have the two tunes in front of me and for starters these tables are different...

Adaptive fuel table
Air Flow Multiplier in Neutral
Base fuel table (most likely because of injectors )
its goes on and on, almost every table based on air flow and fuel is different.

Yep, 2V and 4V will have differing VE's, injector slopes and others different at various RPM's and loads.

even the time that the injector ends its cycle (its late and there is a better way to say that) is different because of the cam timing.
