MSD Ignition??

RE: MSD Ignition??
I am not exactly a genius when it comes to the 4.6 mod motor, but I would have to assume it would do the same as for the old 5.0. Increase ignition (spark) voltage which would help in high compression motors. I.E. to keep the spark from being "blown out" on a n/a motor it would do the same, but help the ignition(D.I.S. on the mod motors) have less spark "fall off" at high RPM. It may also help low end power production with a hotter spark from the plug at low RPM (fifth on the highway and wanting to pass that slow *** semi without changing gears) by bridging the flame kernel with a lil more juice. I put one on my ol' 5.0 and it was a significant gain in feel and driveability, as well as miles to the gallon. But my 306 stroker with a Kenne-Bell was a totally different animal than what we are talking about.

RE: MSD Ignition??
If you have the money to do so I would say............mmmmmmmmmmmmm maybe. depends on what future plans for the car are. If you have major modifications coming then yeah. If you are going to stay with N/A and a few bolt on's then the stock ignition should do just fine. Maybe some better plugs and wires. Denso Iridiums are the s**t and nothing less than Bosch 8.2 mm if you can find them at your local parts house.
