Don't forget the cobra side view mirrors. They make the biggest subtle difference in looks

Ya I was looking at those tonight. Very pricey! That will have to wait till after the bumpers, then I need new tires and Im probably going to swap out the machined Cobra wheels for some Chrome or maybe black 03 SVT wheels.

Aren't cobra parts very expensive? have you ever calculated how much all this stuff would cost versus selling your car w/ the motor & tranny swap and then adding all the money you will need to spend and get a real cobra instead?

Im not looking at doing a full swap! The car already makes the power I want so no money will be wasted there! Im just planning on changing the bumpers at this point. I have a friend of a friend that owns a body shop so the paint will be cheap. He is working on prices for me now, Im thinking he should be able to come close to $1000-1400 for the front/rear bumpers painted and installed (thats without foglight swap).

My payment on this car is $240 a month, which leaves plenty of room for a motorcycle payment in the spring! Eventually, I will sell this car and get a Terminator. I figure if I keep this car for a year, I will pay it down enough that I can sell it for maybe $1-2000 more than what I owe... That'll make a nice down-payment on a Kenne Bell or Whippled Terminator!!!

If you really want to do it then....

Change you user name, Leave the forum for a while untill you can finish off the cobra clone (with Badges) then come back and introduce yourself again with you Cobra. None of the **** will know the difference. But they will droll over you car.

latemodelrestoration.com

front bumper 239.95
cobra chin spoiler 135.95
fog light/bezel kit 169.95
fog light pig tails 9.95 x2
total 565.75

used 03-04 cobra rear bumper

HERE

AND HERE

Can be had shipped for around 400.00
and new are selling for 622.73 form the local ford dealer.

so you should be able to do the complete front bumper with fogs in and working + the used rear bumper for 965.75 not including shipping on the new parts and tax. paint shouldnt cost 100.00 if your buddy owns a body shop and has the reducers, hardeners and clear coat. for 1400.00 you should be able to buy some used cobra side skirts then all you would need the the wing.

Well its official... My buddy firmed everything up with his friend that owns the body shop! 99 Cobra front and rear bumper, 99 Cobra foglights and grill, $1000 painted!! We just gotta help remove the stock bumpers and mount up the new ones and the foglight and grill install will be all up to me but that should be easy!

Only thing that sucks is he is backed up a little so it probably wont happen for a month or so!

We had a long conversation about this very thing in the SVT forums.. it was ridiculous... with the exception of a couple of people... basically everyone said the same thing... Do what you want to it; but don't badge it - be proud of what you have. So you won't get bashed until you put badges on it...

didn't really read the whole list but a few things people notice right away are: the IRS exhaust, the painted mirrors, the brakes, the gauge cluster, the steering wheel... On the 01' Cobras I believe those came with the amber signals.... about all I can think of right now...

But the only other advice I have is to be true to your car... very respectable and probably pretty fast (depending on how you drive it, haha).. Don't cheapen it...
