What's the clicking I hear? Please help
Basically there is a weird clicking noise when i push in on the clutch. I assume the clutch is going bad since the car is on the 3rd one right now. Also the clicking can sometimes be heard during idle and acceleration. It just started yesterday. Thanks for the feedback.

How many miles do you have on it and is your clutch easy or stiff to engage? I vaguely recall a recent post about a similar issue – I’m thinking that you may need a new clutch. Try doing a search though – someone reported the same thing and someone else had experienced it and defined the problem…

i have a sound in my 99GT, but i dont know if its a clicking, almost rattle like, or maybe of a 'rolling rattle" if that makes ANY sense whatsoever
but its not just when i let out the clutch, like, i had the ebrake on and it was just sitting there and i could hear it from the front end
(especially loud in parking garages)
its also noticable right as i shut the car off
hopefully this is similar to your sound, if so, maybe some one has an answer

Not sure how many miles this clutch has, probably around 30,000. And now its a rattle that seems to be coming from everywhere. With the hood up it sounds like it's coming from the engine. For awile it sounded like it was coming up from the shifter, then it stopped and came back again. From underneath it sounds like the exhaust. I know it sounds stupid but it's true.

Might sound a little too simple, but I had the same problem. $12.95 at AutoZone and a new clutch fork and all was well. I cannot say that is what you need, but they do go bad, no matter how new the vehicle. And for the minimal cash outlay and about an hours worth of work what have you got to lose?
