Hey about 2 or 3 weeks ago i asked some of you guys how much it would cost to fix my front bumper, it got a few scracthes on it from hitting a small table each about 1 inch in length. Nothing too bad at all. Last week someone rear ended my car at school, and i dont know who did it. The scratch on the back is about 2x2 inches, not big at all, the shape of a circle. So i went up to the dealer this morning before school. They wont spot touch it up, so they want to take off the front and the back and redo both of them for $841.00 i was like excuse me? i jsut want the spots done. Hes like no we cant do that you have a three stage paint. So i have the inspection sheet im going to show my parents to see what they think. I mean i found an already painted bumper on another site for $275 but i doubt its the same kind of paint ford uses. Oh yea and he added 3 hours of labor just because of the three stage paint.

He's high. Because they are a dealer, they might have "rules" because it IS better to paint the whole bumper but you can easily blow in 3 stage. It isn't perfect but it can be done easily.....with a good buff, nobody will ever know the difference.

Did you tell them that YOU are paying for it yourself? That sounds more like an insurance quote.

Have you tried wet sanding and polishing it out?

yea i told them i wasnt going to go through insurance. Its alright though because i found a small shop that will do it for $200, sand it and everything. Scheduled it for June 9th. I have some pics of my car but i dont know how to upload them in my sig, i knew how on my other one cause i had it on cardomain. You can see the small scratches on the front.
