Can someone tell me how tails spit fire?
omg, common guys, that **** is not a kit, my car does that every downshift from WOT. headers, no cats straight through mufflers- my car runs rich, when i am at wot and left of quick, fuel and fumes spark in the exhaust pipes, shoots small flames out the back, like 6 in. or so. its just fuel and fumes burning in the pipes instead of the combustion chamber. someone was explaining this much better on a tv show i watched, but that is the jist of it.

thats turbo backfire
thats turbo backfire
( I hope, for some reason there is always one faster no matter what)
The flame thrower kits generally work by cutting the spark to a couple of cylinders, letting unburned fuel pass through the exhaust which is then ignited by something SIMILAR to a spark plug in the tail pipe.
It's really bad for your car and it will ruin your cats (if you have them), not to mention the danger of raw fuel hitting hot headers - not good.
The flames you see coming out of race cars as they downshift is because they have straight exhaust on them. NASCARS always do it on the short tracks.....they don't even have to downshift - all they do is lift.

I agree with must everyone else here, i wouldn't do it. The set up I told you about will work, it goes on after the muffler. I've seen it on several street rods. I've even seen it on the tv show trucks. It works but it's not safe.
