It would be a much better use of your money to buy 4.10s, etc. Before and after dyno tests have shown that long-tubes and off-road mid pipe give you between 7-20 rwhp with the lower number being the most common.

Blk N Wht GT... I wish you luck on your California inspection. It is my understanding that long-tubes (no matter what brand) will not pass the visual. They are not CARB approved.

Get the cam headers. Change my clutch out with the headers still in.

If your a retard with one hand and one eye and can't install longtubes yourself then they are not worth the cost of install. But longtubes will increase the performance of all future mods.

Additionally, you can't drop the tranny for clutch replacement or anything else without taking off the headers which would be another 8 hours. I live in CA where there's smog, so if I had gone with shorties, I would be able to just mount the stock mid pipe with the cats on there and pass smog no problem, but now I have to resort to hoping the BBK X pipe with cats will pass me.

So... If I were you, I'd go with the shorties. Sure you may get a few more hp (maybe 5-10 tops), but I really don't think it's worth the hassle

I mean, don't get me wrong, I love my long tubes, the little bit of extra power and sound is definitely amazing. Not to mention, changing out midpipes is a BREEZE! To me, the cost/hassle tho is just more than I expected.
i agree. i got them done on my GT when i had it and i was already built and blown, i picked up like 9RWHP throughout the entire power band. definitely not worth the price.

Lol, yeah I know very well what the rules are.. I'm hoping that the catted x-pipe passes the physical test and that a $20 will help him ignore the visual. Because the catted x's only have the 2 cats, the stock system has 2 cats and 2 pre-cats as well. And if the catted x's do pass the physical part, why should it matter if they're modded or not? It's the same environmental effect.. w/e. I'll let you guys know how it goes. I should be getting my catted x in pretty soon. Otherwise if that doesn't work, I know a couple guys that would pass me a few bills

I had my shop install my LT Hpipe and SLP loud mout for only $250. Just continue looking... LT are worth it IMO. Sounds better too! If you are going to do the install might as well do LT.

IMHO Long tubes are definitely worth it. The gain in hp Definitely makes a big difference.
