Default what kind of shifter to get?

i wanna get a new shifter for my 04 gt. the stock one is horrible. but i dont know how to really go bout pickin one out. i wanna get a shorter shifter too. any ideas?

I agree with you the stock shifter sucks. I bought a Hurst Short Throw form ebay (less than a hundred bucks) and love it. The best thing is that I don't miss third anymore. Blew my clutch last weekend, so if you are planning on modding your car upgrade your clutch..

I only mess with tri axe steeda. Got a ford racing short throw and it's ok but not nearly as good as the tri axe

+1 on the triax. feels great. $170 free ship was best deal I found (stangshifters . com)

Any shifter will be much better than the stock POS. I personally have had MGW's in both my stangs but I have always heard good things about all the other shifters.
