this kid showed me his 2000 GT and it had a cracked windshield and he told me it was cuz' he had a strut tower brace. he recommended me not to get one cuz they are to tight and it will do the same on my car. is this true do they crack windshields? i mean this kid is fuggin retarded but it made me wonder.

I just dont see the logic in the brace cracking the windshield. If anything the car will be more rigid and less likely to crack.

I know what you are saying. Thats why I NEVER bring any of my cars to the dealer. Only if its under warantee. Only a few guys there actually know how to work on a car. I have a friend thats a mechanic for Acura but he is one of the smart ones. He used to work for Ford and Chevy and he told me most of the guys have no clue what they are doing. They use service manuels the entire time for even the simpliest job. Shows

when you take a car to a dealer tell them that you want a master tech to do the work......every dealership should have one.

yeah right, like they will do what you tell them. There gonna pull the guy from another job to work on your car. Plus, most "master tech's" are dumb as rocks.

If you have a strut tower brace that connects at the back firewall it is possible to crack the windshield. This is a common occurance on F-bodies that use the 3 point braces. Mustangs will be no different.

If he only has a 2 point then he lying, if he has a 3 point he is more then likly telling the truth.

I had the 3 point in my old GT and never once had a problem with the windshield. I put almost 50,000 miles on that car in a years time and never had a problem.

I hope this is not true because I too have a crack in the windsheild and I also have a strut tower brace but i dont want to have to remove the brace, i would have no choice though if it is causing this cracking

I have a three point Steeda brace and have never had a problem with the windshield cracking, I drive on some pretty nasty roads. Just ask anyone in the Cincinnati area, we have potholes that can swallow Yugo's. LOL
