Next mod after the dyno, 410's, and full suspension, will most def be the trickflow heads!

How hard would it be to get the Trick Flow heads on a non-PI 4.6 Mustang?

i believe if you just use the 99+ intake you'd be fine with the heads, but you'd have to wait till they actually come out.

My bad - I was "told" the 4.6 4v had forged internals (crank, etc...). I'm still learning!

ok lol i was wondering.. "bone stock to the air cleaner" with 151k miles and forged internals? lol

uhh only the 03s/04 come full forged rotating assembly

the 03/04 mach1s that are manual have forged cranks.

Good to know - btw it "only" has 141k (I don't want to age it prematurely!). That does sound funny though - a major mod like forged internals to a bone stock engine that didn't come with them!

I do wonder how many miles I will get out of this car before I need to rebuild/replace the engine. It runs really well. These cars are cheap now, so I wonder - when the time does come will it be better to rebuild the existing engine to keep it "numbers/signature matching" or to just buy a new long block? Does it even matter? Will the car ever be worth anything as a collector car? Just thinking out loud here...

i think eventually all SVTs will be somewhat of a collectors car ( eh maybe contour lol)

you will probably need to start replacing sensors in about 10 or 15k miles.. maybe less depends how well the car has been treated When mine had 156k The coolant Temp sensor died, MAF died replaced plugs and wires(miss on cyl 3) after just 3 months of rarley driving i think the coil packs are gone or getting there, it has a problem with air inejction somewhere and i think its causing it to foul out the plug(s) and i was planning on a rebuild so i just tore it down, it lasted me to 158k lightlly moded, If i were you i'd save ur money for a rebuild and keep it stockish, exhaust or w/e never hurts.

P.S. Sorry for Thread Jack.

get a 96-97 cobra. there are a lot of really nice ones out there since they were so expensive to start out that the young punks that tear up things couldn't afford them. i paid 8k for mine and it runs great. glad i didn't buy a new age gt.
