AHHH i missed the part where he said when it missed.

Youre right a hanging injector would be all the time. Next time ill read everything, how about that?

So yeah. Look at the coil.

edit: for a coil, the easiest thing is to go to your local ford dealer. The parts department is usually full of bright, smiling faces ready to help you!............

I was told that the dealer will charge about $70 for the OEM part though? This sounded pretty high to me.

$54 and trust me the extra 14 is worth it compared to noname coils. Ive seen aftermarket coils throw off so much RI (radio interference) it trips abs lights and whatnot. try finding a bad coil when looking at an abs concern...the first time anyway

Hey WhitefoxGT or anyone else,

Question about the hanging/sticking injector. My car has a ticking noise and I'm about 99% sure its coming from one of the injectors on the drivers side. Its the middle injector on the drivers side. I put a screwdriver up to it and then the other end up to my ear. I can sure hear it then. I don't think its coming from the valve cover because I can't hear any tick when I do the screwdriver method.

Could this be a bad injector? My car hesitates under load and seems like it misses at idle once warmed up. Tomorrow I'm switching plugs from the TR6 to the stock T56 NGK. I was told that running the TR6 was too cold of a plug.
But this ticking noise is driving me crazy. I have no check engine light

No codes at all? Just because the CEL is off doesnt mean there arent codes... and injectors will click, some maybe slightly louder than others. A faulty injector is hard to diag by just listenin to it. Do m a favor and check the spark plugs and make sure they are tight. Its hard for me to really tell you whats goin on without checkin it out myself

What would happen if the spark plugs are tight enough? I know that you can overtighten these threads and then your screwed. I think it only calls for
7 lbs of pressure on a torque wrench.

I'm pretty sure that they are tight but tomorrow when I change them, I'll make sure they are tight.

Is there anything I should look for on the old plugs to determine any problems.
ect. blow-by, lean conditions, detonation

As far as the ticking noise, if it is an injector then how do I test it to see if its bad. I really want this noise to go away. Thanks for the reply WhitefoxGT

Bought a new coil and plug, had them replaced, and the codes cleared and it seems to be O.K. for now. Cost me about $80 for the parts and install.
