broken rear

Default broken rear

so i got into an accident and i need a new part to go on the rear but dont know whats its called. wheel hub? axel shaft?

just from that pic it looks like the axel and dust sheild but with the axel bearing looking like that the axel housing looks like it might be tweaked too, has the car been checked buy a shop to see if anything else is messed up?? it looks like there could be alot of unseen damage, i would feel better with a whole used rear end then trying to rebuild that one but thats just me.

If you took that kind of hit your upper and lower control arms could be bent, your shock could be bent.
I know mine was a similar accident and the shocks never got replaced and I discoverd a bent one on the same side as the accident when I swapped the shocks out.

I did dig deep into what else is damaged.

I would also not recommend reusing a brake caliper and mounting bracket that had been through that...

like said above take it to a shop and get it checked out. i would be worried that a tube could have been tweeked if the axle smacked the bearing that hard.

From that pic all kinds of stuff could be @#$%ed. I can count at least 3 (axle tube, dust shield and seal/bearing) that are and a dozen more that could be....I'd have a pro check it out.

looking at buying axel right now new bearings and about the dust shield we will see about fixing that also driving home from work and lost control

i found 99 gt rear end. everything included even brake system. only thing is it has a bad axel
